Deandra Evans is a native of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, who obtained her B.A in Psychology from Slippery Rock University, following up with her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, from Kent State University. Deandra has over 15 years of experience in the social services and mental health field and holds the licensure of a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, LPCC-S for the state of Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Deandra is passionate about helping others, giving back, and being a role model for young women. Deandra contributes much of her success, drive and tenacity to never give up, to her late mother Ms. Deidra Evans. Deandra and her mother shared a bond so powerful, that when Deidra lost her battle to stage 4 colon cancer in 2015, naturally Deandra found herself depressed, angry, and overwhelmed with sadness. During that time, Deandra lost her will to help others, questioned her belief in God, and at times debated on if life was worth living.

5 Severance Circle, Ste. 510 Cleveland Heights, OH 44118As the years passed, Deandra worked on her spiritual and emotional healing, re-established her purpose and goals, and fell back in love with her desire to assist others on their journeys to holistic healing. Although the healing process was often lonely, and scary, Deandra marks this experience as the most pivotal and necessary turning point in her life. Despite having an educational background in mental health and emotional development, Deandra still found herself completely clueless, hopeless and helpless for years; yet coincidentally a beautiful lesson and newfound purpose emerged. From there, Deandra contributes her healing process to these key attributes; having a strong relationship/foundation with her mother, having the education and experience of a clinician, and having a strong social support system.
These key principles all contributed to the mission, purpose, and development of RDBHS. Deandra believes that by educating our families, our youth, and people we love about various components of mental & behavioral health, we will foster a positive impact and precedent on healing and empowerment within our communities. Deandra believes that if a person can understand and identify any combination of the following values, they will confidently and successfully lead their life in the RIGHT DIRECTION!
- Building & restoring familial values and emotional resilience
- Education on mental, behavioral, and emotional health
- Development of coping skills and healthy interpersonal relationships
- Self-advocacy and empowerment
- Identifying ways to overcome weaknesses and expound on strengths
- Knowing when, and how to shamelessly ask for help!
